Rita Moyer Parker

Immediately after graduation I attended Southeastern University as an accounting major. I was much more active in college than high school. I was co-captain of the cheerleaders and ran for Miss Southeastern and was 2nd runner up.
I got a job in accounting at The General Store on 7th Street and met my future husband there. He graduated from Anacostia in '77. He went active duty in the Air Force and we left DC in 1982.
After many years of traveling with my family, I came back to DC to care for my 95-year-old dad in 2014. I really enjoyed being back at home but had to "relearn" DC! My dad passed away in August 2017 and I moved back to the Atlanta area. This is where my daughters and grandchildren are and I love being close to them.
I purchased a home in Conyers, GA. I am enjoying myself in Georgia. I have been acting in plays and film. I have an IMDb page, Rita Parker (II) Who knows what's next?

I came to McKinley Tech as a junior. I originally went to Coolidge and lived in that school district. I thought I was coming to Tech to get involved in music but that never really happened. I met my high school sweetheart in homeroom and it lasted beyond graduation. Our parents thought we would get married. I admit I did too, but that didn't quite workout. Buddy and I reconnected through this platform and social media. All is well that ends well!
