Immediately after graduation I attended Southeastern University as an accounting major. I was much more active in college than high school. I was co-captain of the cheerleaders and ran for Miss Southeastern.
I got a job in my field at The General Store on 7th Street and met my future husband there. He graduated from Anacostia in '77. He went active duty in the Air Force and we left DC in 1982.
After many years of traveling with my family, I came back home to care for my 95-year-old dad in 2014. I really enjoyed being back at home but had to "relearn" DC! My dad passed away in August 2017 and I moved back to the Atlanta area. This is where my daughters and grandchildren are and I love being close to them.
My plan is to go a little farther south, maybe retire in Florida somewhere. For now I am enjoying myself in Georgia. I have been doing a little acting in plays and film. Who knows what's next...
