I found out two years ago that Elbert had died when I ran into his youngest brother Derrick. He lived around the corner from us growing up and I was best friends with his sister Carol in elementary school. I remember Elbert as always kind of quiet for the most part and very, very kind. He always had a kind word. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
